Oppo Reno7 New Year Edition in Red Velvet color announced
The Oppo Reno7 unveiled last month has a special version, called the Oppo Reno7 New Year Edition. It is colored Red Velvet and has a Tiger logo on the back next to the Oppo nickname since 2022 is the year of the tiger in the Chinese zodiac.
Along with a red paint job and the Tiger logo on the back, the Oppo Reno7 New Years Edition is just the regular Reno7, which means it comes with the Snapdragon 778 SoC, a FullHD + AMOLED display. 6.43 inch 90Hz and ColorOS 12 based on Android 11.
For photography, you get four cameras – a 32MP selfie shooter inside the punch hole, with the rectangular island on the rear case of the 64MP primary, 8MP ultralarge, and 2MP macro units.
The Oppo Reno7 New Year Edition packs a 4,500mAh battery with 60W charging support and has a built-in fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
The price of the Oppo Reno7 New Year’s Edition is also the same as the regular model, so you don’t pay a premium for the new color. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,699 ($ 425 / € 375), and spending an additional CNY 300 ($ 45 / € 40) would get you double storage. You’ll have to shell out CNY 3,299 ($ 520 / € 455) if you want the high-end 12GB / 256GB variant.
The Reno7 New Year Edition will be available for pre-order in China from December 27 on the official Oppo website, but it is unlikely to launch in international markets. However, we could still see Oppo showcase the red-colored Reno7 without the Tiger logo to the world when the range launches outside of China.
